What was the most rewarding aspect of your internship?

“The most rewarding aspect of my internship was the opportunity to work on real-world projects that created a meaningful impact for the organization. I enjoyed analyzing and organizing data, improving reporting processes, and developing tools that helped streamline operations and decision-making. It was especially rewarding to see how my work contributed to improving efficiency and supporting my team’s goals. Beyond the technical experience, collaborating with professionals, learning from mentors, and gaining confidence in a professional work environment made this internship a valuable and fulfilling experience for me.”

I enjoyed contributing to intern spotlight posts, social media engagement, orientations, and data management activities that helped improve communication, organization, and the overall internship experience for participants.”

How do you believe you have made an impact to MTIP through your work?

‘I believe I made a positive impact at Maryland Technology Internship Program by contributing to projects that improved data organization, reporting, and operational efficiency. Through my work, I helped streamline processes by creating dashboards, trackers, SOPs, and data resources that made information easier to access and analyze for the team. I also supported outreach and reporting initiatives that contributed to better communication and decision-making. In addition to completing assigned tasks, I focused on creating resources that could continue to support the organization even after my internship, which I believe added long-term value to the team.”

“I believe I made a positive impact at the by supporting student and employer engagement through creating spotlight posts, managing social media content for LinkedIn, and helping organize internship-related information. I also assisted with semester database audits, created and managed Handshake experiences, conducted intern orientations, and maintained data in Airtable to help improve organization and operational efficiency within the program.”

How did working for MTIP connect you to external internships and what impact did it have on professional growth?

“Working with Maryland Technology Internship Program directly connected me to my opportunity working as a project manager intern with BioBuild, which had a significant impact on my professional growth. Through MTIP, I was able to gain hands-on experience in operations, project coordination, data analysis, and process improvement within a startup environment. Working at BioBuild allowed me to collaborate with professionals, contribute to real projects, and develop practical skills in communication, organization, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork. The experience also strengthened my confidence in working in professional settings and helped me better understand the type of career path and work environment I want to pursue in the future.”

Through MTIP, I was able to secure my Data Analyst internship with the Department of Social and Economic Mobility (DoSEM), which significantly contributed to my professional growth. The experience gave me a better understanding of internship expectations, workplace professionalism, and industry requirements while also helping me build meaningful professional connections outside the university.”
