1) Please tell us about your career goals.
I aim to continue learning, improving, and developing my skills to perform data analysis and data science work effectively. I’m deeply interested in discovering patterns, answering questions through data, visualizing insights, and eventually building predictive models. I believe understanding data is crucial for business development and decision-making, and I’m excited by the idea of creating impact through my work. While I’m open to exploring different fields, my focus is on optimizing processes and helping people make better decisions using data.
2) Tell us about your internship (i.e., day-to-day responsibilities, special projects/clients, and work culture).
During my internship, I’ve worked on a variety of technical projects, most of them focused on data analysis and data visualization. I’ve used tools like Excel and Power BI to clean data, create visuals, and generate reports that support company decision-making. I’ve also contributed to the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) team, learning and helping to standardize processes to make our work more efficient. The culture here is very growth-oriented, emphasizing learning, teamwork, and collaboration, which I experience every day through both small and significant actions within the team.
3) Describe the process of obtaining your position. When did you hear of the position and submit your application?
Thanks to the guidance of Howard Community College’s career services, I was encouraged to explore companies that aligned with my interests and reach out to them directly. Through this process, I discovered Vine Technology Solutions and was immediately drawn to their core values, which motivated me to connect with the team. As I learned more about their work and built a relationship, it became clear that we were a great fit, and that connection ultimately developed into an internship opportunity.

5) What have you enjoyed the most about your position or organization?
What I’ve enjoyed most about this company is its genuine commitment to growth, not just for the business, but for its employees. I always feel that my ideas are heard and valued, and there is a real culture of constructive feedback that helps me improve while celebrating progress. The environment is supportive, collaborative, and focused on learning, which has allowed me to grow my skills, take on meaningful challenges, and truly feel like I’m making an impact.
6) How do you believe you have made an impact through your work?
I believe my work has supported the team and helped advance projects. Through data analysis, reporting, and visualization, I provided insights that informed decisions and facilitated progress. On the SBIR team, I contributed to making processes more concrete and actionable, helping turn ideas into structured steps. I also focused on identifying opportunities for improvement and supported solutions that enhanced efficiency and outcomes. Overall, I feel my contributions have helped projects move forward and supported the team in achieving its goals.
7) What advice would you give to another student who is seeking an internship or similar experience (i.e., Internship search, Resume, or Interview tips)?
My biggest advice for students seeking an internship is to stay open and flexible. There are many opportunities out there, and you shouldn’t rule any out just because they don’t look perfect on paper. Trying something new or stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to tremendous growth, especially at this stage of life when we’re still figuring out what we enjoy and where we want to go. Exploring different experiences is one of the best ways to learn, develop skills, and discover what truly motivates you.
