As a UI/UX Designer, my career goal is to enhance user experiences by creating intuitive and accessible digital solutions that empower users to navigate the digital world with ease.

2) Tell us about your internship (i.e. day-to-day responsibilities, special projects/clients and work culture).

During my UI/UX internship, I conducted extensive UX research to redesign the CEO’s portfolio, including desk research, stakeholder interviews, SWOT analysis, and empathy mapping to identify key user pain points and expectations. I designed and iterated 15+ prototypes based on stakeholder insights, creating a responsive, WCAG-compliant website that effectively balanced professional and personal branding, achieving a 98% satisfaction rate. Additionally, I redesigned an e-commerce platform by integrating advanced customization options, leveraging competitive analysis and user research to enhance conversion rates and user engagement. Throughout the internship, I collaborated with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced work culture, focusing on user-centered design, accessibility, and iterative improvements.

7) What advice would you give to another student who is seeking an internship or similar experience (i.e. Internship search, Resume or Interview tips)?

I would advise focusing on building a strong portfolio that showcases your best work, including any personal or academic projects that demonstrate your skills. When applying for internships, tailor your resume and cover letter to highlight relevant experience and skills for the specific role. During interviews, be prepared to talk about your design process, how you approach problem-solving, and any challenges you’ve overcome. Also, don’t forget to ask thoughtful questions about the company culture and the role itself—this shows your genuine interest. Lastly, be proactive in networking, as many opportunities come from connections.
