1) Please tell us about your Career Goals.
I would like to be a Fullstack Developer or a Software Development Engineer.
2) Tell us about your internship (i.e. day-to-day responsibilities, special projects/clients and work culture).
I am currently serving as a Full Stack Developer, actively collaborating with the CEO and the core technical team on the development of a critical Data Privacy Assessment Module. In this role, my responsibilities spanned database design, API development, and the deployment of the application on AWS. A significant focus of my work has been on the backend system, where I designed and implemented GraphQL-based Restful APIs, leveraging JWT tokens for authentication and implementing role-based authorization. Additionally, I contributed to the Angular Framework for the frontend, seamlessly integrating it with the developed APIs.
This internship has provided me with a comprehensive experience as a full-stack developer, allowing me to engage in the entire application development lifecycle – from design to testing and deployment. The company culture is excellent.
3) Describe the process of obtaining your position. When did you hear of the position and submit your application?
I applied to this position through Handshake in the month of July. Later had 3 rounds of interviews and started working from the month of August.
4) Which of the following resources did you use to find your current experience?
Handshake or other job boards
5) What have you enjoyed the most about your position or organization?
The job role and responsibilities are challenging enough and also matches with my work experience. This made me stay motivated throughout the internship and produce quality products (code).
6) How do you believe you have made an impact through your work?
I contributed to redesign and development of a DPIA assessment module for the company’s application. This helped the organization to attract more clients due to the addition of new features.
7) What advice would you give to another student who is seeking an internship or similar experience (i.e. Internship search, Resume or Interview tips)?
Make your resume specific to the job description. Never apply with a generic resume.
